Robert C. Atkins M.D.  Dr. Atkins VITA-NUTRIENT SOLUTION Simon and
Schuster: 1998 ISBN 0-684-84488-5
“Whatever you think about the diet of Dr. Atkins, this book stands tall
as a reference book on vitamins and herbs for a variety of situations and
illnesses including cancer.  I cannot overemphasize the value of this reference book.  I always carry it with
me whenever I might come into contact with new information on vitamins, minerals, and herbs, and check
the action and significance in this book.  It is very comprehensive, and it is a must in the library of anyone
wanting to stay healthy or fighting a chronic disease.”
– Marilyn Holasek Lloyd

Austin, Steve, N.D. and Hitchcock, Cathy, M.S.W.,  BREAST CANCER, WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW (BUT
MAY NOT BE TOLD) ABOUT PREVENTION, DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT. LIFESAVING
INFORMATION TO HELP YOU BEAT THE ODDS.  Prima Publishing: 1992.  ISBN 1-55958-362-2
This book contained a lot of the research on oophorectomy that I had to dig out of the hospital library.  I
found it concise and well written.  It is old now;  it would be nice to know how his wife who had breast
cancer is doing herself.

Bland, Jeffrey, PhD.  GENETIC NUTRITIONEERING  Keats Publishing (and McGraw-Hill/Contemporary
Books: 1999. ISBN 0879883921.

" If someone has the cancer genes for breast cancer, does that mean that
they will get breast cancer?  Dr. Bland says, 'Not necessarily'.  This book is not about just preventing
breast cancer but all cancers. He goes into great depth to explain these principles.  For anyone trying to
stay well and get well, this is a must read.  In case you never heard of Jeffrey Bland, he teaches nutritional
biochemistry to physicians who did not get this information in medical school.

Boik, John. CANCER AND NATURAL MEDICINE: A TEXTBOOK OF BASIC SCIENCE AND CLINICAL
RESEARCH Oregon Medical Press: 1996.  ISBN 0-9648280-0-6
“John Boik’s work is important because he gives the backbone to many of the alt med remedies.” – Lyn S.

Boik, John NATURAL COMPOUNDS IN CANCER THERAPY ISBN 0-9648280-1-4) 2001

“This book as well as Boik’s first book,”Cancer in Natural Medicine” 1996 is for the research oriented.  They
are not books that one can sit down and read from cover to cover.  They show tons of research, some of
which can be transposed to treatment modalities.  The beauty of these books, however, is they are
comprehensive in explaining important factors when researching cancer.  They explain well Initiation,
proliferation and cell death of cancer; Angiogenesis; Invasion;  Metastasis; Ph and neoplasia; The
immune system;  Treatments of cancer; Theory of Chinese Medicine;  Antitumor effects of botanical
agents; Dietary macronutrients on cancer; and overviews of many types of cancer.
“I once asked John Boik “Wouldn’t you be interested in studying a group of women (Amazon list serve
women) who actually do a lot of these modalities and see if it makes a difference in their survival.”  He
answered, “Get me a grant and I will.”

Cameron, Ewan and Linus Pauling. CANCER AND VITAMIN C, Camino Books, Philadelphia 1975, 1993.
Linus Pauling Institute of Science and Medicine. ISBN 0-940159-21-X
“Good overview; the book that started the Vitamin C controversy that continues to this day.” -- Adrienne

Clark, Hulda, Ph.D., THE PREVENTION OF ALL CANCERS New Century Press, ISBN 1-890035-34-3, 2004

From The Prevention of All Cancers: "Cancer can be cured, not just treated. Kill the malignancy-causing
parasite and the tumor-causing bacteria. Learn the dietary triggers for each oncovirus that immortalizes
your tumor cells. Outwit RAS, MYC, NEU, SRC, SV40, JUN, and FOS with diet. Follow a tester’s protocol
that guarantees success. Get your immunity back with electricity: zapping, plate-zapping and
homeography make it easier than ever to find your health again."

Thoughts on The Prevention of All Cancers:
“This eagerly-anticipated addition to a formidable body of
empirical work on the cure of disease, by a brilliant independent research scientist, has refined and
expanded aspects of the protocol developed in her previous books on Advanced Cancer and AIDS, making
it more accessible and understandable. Once again, Dr. Clark's straightforward explanations of the causes
that trigger the complex molecular biology and toxicology of cancer make it clear why, and how, her
protocol works. As with all her published work, the detailed case reports, reproducible data, resources and
scientific references provide solid underpinnings.” -

D’Adamo Peter J, M.D, LIVE RIGHT FOR YOUR TYPE ISBN 9780399-14673-3)2001

"This book is a follow up to the original book Eat Right for Your Type.  LRFYT is a much more
comprehensive book which outlines eating and living according to one’s most basic genetic profile, one’s
blood type.  Dr. D’Adamo shows how this concept affects immunity, disease propensity, and surviving even
cancer by altering one’s concept of food and supplements, and exercise plans.  It includes much more than
the first book in that it also addresses secretor status as a biomarker for dietary changes.

LRFYT includes a comprehensive appendices which includes all the research on the blood type diet and
lifestyle.  This was missing from the original book due to the publisher’s decision on making the first book
into more of a “diet book.”  One of Dr. D’Adamo’s latest books: CANCER: FIGHT IT WITH THE BLOOD TYPE
DIET (2004) is a good companion for LRFYT, because the lists are specific for battling cancer.

And Schuster:  1995.  ISBN 0-02-082085-2
"This makes you rethink everything in the environment you took for granted such as pesticides in the home
and on pets, the water you drink, the soaps you use, the chlorine in the shower etc.  This book lists all
categories of products and which are good and bad for you.  It lists which ones could be carcinogenic or
irritating.  A must book for everyone in America who is interested in staying well.  He also wrote THE
BREAST CANCER PREVENTION PROGRAM."

Frahm, Anne E. and David J. Frahm.  A CANCER BATTLE PLAN Pinon: 1992.  ISBN 08910-96906.
“Several Amazons have read and gained insights from this book.” - Editor

Gofman, Dr. John PREVENTING BREAST CANCER 1994-98  ISBN 0932682960

“In Preventing Breast Cancer, Dr. Gofman writes,  'Our estimate is that about three-quarters of the current
annual incidence of breast cancer in the U.S. is being caused by earlier ionizing radiation, primarily from
medical sources.'  He goes on state, 'Existing human evidence, combined with analysis of the number of
ionization tracks created per cell-nucleus from various doses, invalidates older claims that proof of cancer
induction is limited to doses which are greater than 10 or 20 rads. In reality, there is human evidence in
the mainstream medical journals of cancer induction from radiation doses which are close to the lowest
possible dose and dose-rate - and some of that evidence appears to come from studies of radiation
induced human breast cancer.' "
